OUR MISSION
Musicians Mission of Mercy unites compassionate musicians and others with generous hearts to provide food, beverages and other life essentials to people in need.
Music has a universal power to bring people together emotionally and spiritually. We tap into the gifts of musicians to bring awareness to our mission and raise funds to buy and distribute provisions.
Musicians and non-musicians alike can support our cause by making a donation of any size to help buy provisions for distribution or by becoming a volunteer.
Musicians feed the hungry. Music feeds the soul. Join us in our mission!

The Grateful Warrior
PTSD is a common affliction among U.S veterans. For one Ashe County local, this trauma has been a lifelong struggle. John Longo is a retired 66 year old U.S Air Force veteran who has served in Vietnam. We are delighted to welcome Longo as a volunteer with Musicians Missions of Mercy and to share his inspiring tale of hope and courage.
PROVIDING FOOD TO THOSE IN NEED
A major service from Musicians Mission of Mercy is our Compassionate Commissary™ program. This initiative brings a constant source of food when needed to our neighbors in Ashe County and beyond.
Our organization takes Compassionate Commissary boxes of shelf-stable food to more than 30 locations throughout the region, including local stores and businesses, social services and law enforcement offices. Each box is labeled “To keep or to share” to help remove any stigma of accepting free food, with no questions asked. We replenish these boxes several times a month to supplement the local food pantry options.
Participating artists and other volunteers have hands-on involvement in distributing food, beverages, toiletries and other life essentials to our neighbors in need. Life’s essentials also include love, respect and dignity. Our volunteers are empowered to demonstrate these qualities as they interact with those we serve.
